I had been working as a personal trainer for a few years
when I decided to take up fitness pole dancing. I wanted to offer something
different to my clients, but also try something new for myself...little did I
know how much I would fall in love with it!
I had always struggled with my
upper body strength, but felt stronger after just one session. As a gymnast and
dancer in my teens, I picked up the moves quickly and now do 90% of my own
exercise on the pole! I'm totally addicted to it and so are most of my clients.
Fitness Pole dancing has many benefits. The fact that its challenging,
great fun and increases your confidence set it apart from gym training for many
people. But the improvements to your body shape, strength, cardiovascular
fitness, flexibility, balance, co-ordination and posture, mean that it really is
a fantastic form of exercise and one that is now taken very seriously within the
fitness industry.
Whether like myself, you are from a gymnastics or dance
background, or whether you have two left feet and want to improve your
co-ordination, rhythm and flexibility, it is worth giving fitness pole dancing a
try.
